Hughesnet internet no signal but it's my fault?


I had no choice but to cancel my service after only a few months because I couldn't receive the signal on my satellite. You sent out a technician to see what was going on. He told me, and put in his report that I wasn't receiving a signal because the tree was blocking it. The first technician installed the satellite in the winter and the signal was shooting between the branches. We had a perfect signal for a few months and had no problems. But now that its warmer and the leaves grew in, the signal was being blocked and we no longer had internet. When the technician came to check the satellite he informed us of the problem and told us that he would normally just reposition the satellite but we live in a trailer and he can't mount it to the roof or side and there was no where else in the yard he could put it because all of the trees surrounding us. He said that the technician that installd it should have never put it there because of the fact that it was winter and when it got warmer the tree would be covered with leaves. So now I have to cancel my service because nothing can be done. This is a huge inconvenience to me because now I have to spend a lot of money to start up a new service with verizon. Since I am terminating the contract I have to pay the early termination fee. There is no reason at all in this situation that I should have to pay to have it cancelled when it is clearly their fault not mine. I don't want to cancel at all, the service was great until I couldn't receive the signal. But I have to and I have to pay a lot of money to get service through a different company who charges more monthly for the same thing. The company, Hughesnet , is telling me that they're very sorry for the inconvenience and the only thing they can do is reduce the fee to $170. I shouldn't have to pay anything since it is their fault I have to cancel not mine. I'm not going to pay for a service I can't even use. They suggested I cut down the trees, which are not even in my yard, it's impossible. I was told that if the fee wasn't paid within 45 days it would be sent to a collections agency. This company is trying to make me pay for something that is not even my fault and it has been a huge inconvenience to me. They should actually be refunding me for the last months service that I paid for and wasn't even getting internet because the satellite was blocked by the trees. This company is completely ridiculous and i'll take the bad credit over having to pay you money for something that's your fault and causing me to have to pay a lot of money to start up a new service with Verizon.

We are having the same issue with them!!! Im so sorry you are dealing with this as well. We just moved and we had planned on keeping our services with Hughesnet but are unable to because we cant even get a signal!!! There is no line of sight!!! So we told them we have to cancel cause we cant even get a signal here and they are still making us pay half of the cancellation fee!!! He doesn't care and said that's its not either of our faults but you still have to pay....unbelieveable!!! I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone!!!!!
