Hughesnet Complaint

Unauthorized use of my credit card - Gen4

I called hugesnet just about an inquiry of how much a modem cost (of course didn't get a representative that spoke English to well), I told them I would have to think about it and get back to them. Next thing I see is that they charged my debit card over $300+! So when I tried to get this resolved ASAP, that wasn't going to happen. I was told I have to wait 4 days and call back in order to credit my account. They took my money without any authorization and now I have to wait, are they crazy? They refused to let me speak to anyone in the US, it wouldn't of been so bad if it wasn't my debit card, but it's still STEALING! All I want is my money back yesterday!!!! Be very careful with this company. They can do whatever they want with YOUR MONEY!

n Sept 2013 we signed up with Hughesnet. They told us we had 30 days to cancel or we would be in a two year contract with them. Since the speed was terrible and we had other options we cancelled service within 2 weeks. First problem - They made us keep the service until the end of the first month. They sent us a prepaid envelope to return the equipment. We returned everything they asked for. Then on 12/12/13 I see a charge for $214 on my credit card. I call and they said I didn't return a radio transmitter on the roof so they changed my credit card because I didn't return all of the equipment. So I hire someone to go on the roof to get it and returned it to them in another prepaid envelope. Three months go by and no credit on my credit card statement. So I call. They can not issue me a credit because I no longer have an account with them. So there policy is not to refund your money until you call and complain. So on 3/15/14 my credit card was credited $214 for the return of the equipment they confirmed receiving.

Tonight (5/18/14) I call my credit card company to review my charges and Hughesnet has charged ANOTHER $214 on my card. Hughesnet confirmed they had every piece of equipment and that I would get my refund, which they sent me. I will have to call them tomorrow because they are not open right now but I am very upset and might have to cancel my credit card to stop them from unauthorized charges.
