telephone service/hughsnet gen4 - hughsnet gen4/phone bundle

my hughsnet service is about ten days old. it took that long to get my original telephone number to work. it worked this morning for the first time. this evening, my phone line is dead. i have listened to four recordings and spoken to two technical support people who speak with heavy accents. my phone is still dead. my trouble has been referred to a third "engineer". don, the second technical support person, tells me that the resolution could take two days. this is not good. i believe this is typical for hughsnet/cisco provided telephone service.
